Cette situation se produit g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l&rsquo;aspiration, o\u00f9 une pression r\u00e9duite entra\u00eene la formation de petites bulles de vapeur. <br>Ces bulles implosent lorsque la pression augmente, lib\u00e9rant des ondes de choc qui peuvent endommager les roues. L&rsquo;\u00e9tendue de ces dommages d\u00e9pend du mat\u00e9riau de la roue ; l&rsquo;acier inoxydable est plus r\u00e9sistant \u00e0 la cavitation que le bronze, et le bronze est plus r\u00e9sistant que la fonte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La cavitation entra\u00eene une diminution du d\u00e9bit (Q) et de la hauteur manom\u00e9trique (H), ce qui se traduit par une baisse des performances de la pompe.
