Inzicht in deze verschillen is essentieel voor het kiezen van de juiste pomp voor een bepaalde toepassing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Centrifugaalpompen worden gecategoriseerd op basis van hun ontwerp, dat overeenkomt met hun toepassingen en beoogde gebruik. Veel voorkomende ontwerpen zijn eentraps-, meertraps-, monoblok-, inline- en zelfaanzuigende pompen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elk pomptype kan worden gebouwd met verschillende componenten om verschillende vloeistoffen te kunnen verpompen, zoals water, chemicali\u00ebn, schurende of corrosieve stoffen, met of zonder vaste deeltjes of gas. De buitenmagneet is verbonden met de pompaandrijving en de binnenmagneet is verbonden met de pompas. Hierdoor wordt het koppel van de pompaandrijving overgebracht op de pompas. De verpompte vloeistof werkt als smeermiddel voor de lagers in de pomp.
